Stonewall Athlete Awards

The Stonewall Athletic Awards support, honor and enhance the San Diego LGBT athletic community by promoting inclusive and healthy competition and activities. Each year, San Diego Pride accepts nominations from the community to recognize individuals and groups in their respective categories.

Our First Annual Stonewall Athlete Awards Reception was held on Friday, May 20th at the Lafayette Hotel.

All-Star Athlete - Dan Mock

This award is given to a player who most exemplifies the ideals of sportsmanship with ethical behavior, fair play, and integrity across multiple sports and athletic competition in the San Diego region.

Leadership - Steven Krause

This award is given to a league commissioner, president, or other leader who most exemplifies and maintains the ideals of sportsmanship with ethical behavior, fair play, and integrity within their league, athletic competition, or recreational sport in the San Diego region while engaging organization in the broader LGBT community.

Volunteer - Tom Abbas

This award is given to a volunteer whose invaluable and significant contributions of time and skills have ensured the success of their league, athletic competition, or recreational sport in the San Diego region.
