Hi/Hola! I’m Jaime Carrillo and I’m a trainer, grant writer, facilitator and collaborative planner in the nonprofit health and social service industry. I bring to San Diego Pride’s Board of Directors 7+ years of experience in evaluating and coordinating small and large-scale programs and initiatives. I first found my voice as an LGBT community member and activist while a student at UC Irvine, and have worked to integrate the visible and “invisible” needs of our complex LGBT community in my work in the social sector. I am also interested in the intersection of race, gender, sexuality and class in our LGBTQ* community. As Secretary of the board my goals are to bring transparency to Pride and our processes, contribute to the board’s commitment to uplift an inclusive sense of “Pride 365,” and to be a good steward the organization on behalf of San Diego’s diverse LGBTQ* community. I enjoy being a volunteer camp counselor with the Laurel Foundation, playing softball with America’s Finest City Softball League, disc golfing and fighting for health care access for all. I am also a Director of Developmental Services Continuum, a nonprofit dedicated to serving children and adults with disabilities.
