Community Historian in Residence Dr. TJ Tallie has spent the past year uncovering powerful stories of Black Queer San Diegans from 1988-2002. His archival research examines how the community navigated and transformed the city during decades of profound change, drawing from activist papers, community newspapers, and firsthand accounts to highlight Black queer voices in local LGBTQ+ history.

Special guest Phyllis Jackson will perform selected readings from Marti Mackey’s writings.
