M Valladolid, San Diego Pride’s Youth Programs Coordinator, is an Afro-LatinX organizer born and raised in San Diego who is passionate about intersectionality, gender justice, and racial equity. They are also an ENTP and a very proud Capricorn.
M was an alumni of the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts’ Musical Theatre program. While in high school, M served on the GLSEN National Student Council, where they collaborated with 18 other youth from across the country on days of action such as Day of Silence, No Name Calling Week, LGBTQ History Month, and LatinX Heritage Month. In addition to working at Pride, M is a part-time student at Southwestern College preparing to transfer to UCSD’s Gender Studies Studies program.
When not at Pride, M occupies the GLSEN San Diego board as a Co-chair in training, works on content with the GSA Network Trans TRUTH Council, and cares for their lizard Frank-N-Furter (Frankie) Valladolid. They are ecstatic to be a part of the Pride family and look forward to fostering growth and agency in the lives of LGBTQIA2+ youth in San Diego.
