Who should attend the Pride Power Summit?

Anyone who is LGBTQ justice oriented and is interested in building grassroots power to make change! Every skill level of organizer is welcome, from new leaders who are interested in learning what organizing is, to experienced organizers who want to increase their skill level, or connect with other organizers in San Diego.

Do I need to be an experienced organizer?

No! We’ll have two tracks at the Pride Power Summit. One for new folks who want to learn basic skills, and another track for folks who have some organizing experience, but want to increase their skill levels.

How do I get to City College?

We recommend a ride-share, taxi, or public transportation if you’re able!

The conference will take place in the Math and Social Sciences Building.

There are twelve bus lines with stops near the city college campus. Lines 2, 5, 7, 12, 20, 110, 215, 225, 235, 280, 290, and 992 all have stops by SD City College. Three trolley lines, the Blue Line, Orange Line, and Silver Line all have stops near campus as well. The best way to find the bus or trolley line that works for you is using MTS’s Trip Planner. Getting around: What public transportation is available in San Diego?

Will hybrid/virtual programming be available at the Pride Power Summit?

No, while we understand that virtual programming increases accessibility, the skills we’ll be developing and running training on require us to be in person and in community during the conference. Keynotes and speeches may be recorded and posted online after the conference, but the workshops and breakout sessions will be in person and not posted online.

What workshops or presentations will be provided?

The planning team intends to finalize the workshop schedule for publication by March 1 2023. The conference will include field organizing, storytelling, and campaign development. Additional trainings and workshops will be posted in the final schedule by March 1, 2023.

What are the COVID protocols for the conference?

The health and safety of attendees is our highest priority. The conference planning team is currently working on solidifying our COVID protocols based on local, state, federal, and global health guidelines and best practices. In addition to guidance from public health officials, we will be aligning our conference protocols with principles of disability justice and accessibility. COVID protocols will be published online by March 1, 2023, and updated to a final version to incorporate any new health guidance by April 15, 2023.
