Jesus believes one cannot be a leader in the community unless they are giving back, and he has actively volunteered and mobilized others to volunteer with a variety of different causes serving the LGBT community, the elderly, foster children, and the homeless. Raised in Northern California, Jesus began his volunteer work at a gay men’s health clinic in Berkeley where his passion for helping others was ignited. After volunteering with the Hillcrest Youth Center, Jesus founded the San Diego chapter of Future Leaders of Our community in 2011 with the goal of connecting young professionals to important causes in their community. Jesus is currently finishing his master’s degree at the University of San Diego in Nonprofit Leadership and Management where he has consulted with organizations across San Diego County to enhance their impact through fundraising, programming, and polices and procedures. With a background in TV production, Jesus enjoys writing and film making in his spare time and can be found singing karaoke to his favorites songs from time to time.
