About:
Cris Sotomayor is a Nonbinary Boricua that has been fortunate to professionally engage as a program manager, case manager, speaker, organizer, and educator. Cris has served a wide array of populations and communities, with a special focus on folx whose intersecting identities increase their likelihood of facing social barriers to success. Through their lived and professional experience, Cris witnessed the devastation experienced by marginalized communities as they attempt to thrive in a system that was not created for them. These experiences taught them early on that in order for folx to thrive, they must individually take up the labor of reconstructing the system that we were all born into. As Pride’s Program Manager, Cris coordinates programing for LGBTQ+ youth and the Latinx community. In their personal time, you can find Cris playing with their pup, cooking, and practicing healing through meditation, Yoga, & Brujeria.
