If the Cosmos Can Realign, So Can You

Dear Pride Family,
Every generation of our movement has faced turning points — moments when the world around us shifted, demanding that we rise to meet a new era. For the queer community, these thresholds have always been more than symbolic. They’ve been moments of survival, resistance and transformation. At times, these last nine months have seemed like an endless series of thresholds.
This eclipse season offers us another such reminder. Yes, astrology queers, this is your moment. Eclipses mark powerful endings and beginnings — closing chapters that no longer serve us and opening space for what is ready to be born. As we face this moment together, we are invited to release what weighs us down and embrace the future we are building.
Here at San Diego Pride, we’ve spent this week centering ourselves in the work — pausing to reflect, reconnect, and pour our heart and creativity into Pride. Our annual staff retreat is more than a planning session; it’s a chance to align our vision, strengthen our team, and prepare for the powerful era of change ahead. Just as the eclipse realigns the skies, these moments realign us with our mission and with one another.
Claiming power means letting go of the doubt, shame and scarcity that the world has tried to place upon us. It means shedding the belief that our voices are too small, our impact too limited, or our dreams too ambitious. The truth is this: we have inherited a movement built by those who believed in liberation when it seemed impossible. We carry forward their legacy each time we speak up, show up, and stay true to who we are.
For San Diego Pride this work is about more than ten days in July. It’s about claiming our collective power in every season, in every fight, every setback and in every victory. It’s about recognizing that we are not bystanders in this era of change — we are powerful agents.
We are entering a new era where the stakes just keep getting higher, but our opportunity is profound. This is the time to sharpen our vision, deepen our connections and boldly affirm that our lives and our liberation are non-negotiable.
We are more than witnesses to change — we are unbreakable. The eclipse reminds us: endings are, in fact beginnings. Shadows pass, light returns and with it comes clarity. Together, we rise into this powerful new era, unafraid, unapologetic and unshakeable.
In Pride,
