J'Nyka Faulkner- Member of the Viejas band of the Kumeyaay Nation
J’Nyka is 5th generation Kumeyaay belonging to Santa Ysabel & Viejas. She is a native San Diegan, who grew up on the Viejas reservation. J’Nyka’s passions are community engagement, educating about indigenous existence & exploring nature. J’Nyka pushes for representation for the black & native community, people of color & womxn. She actively participates & has led security teams for protests, organizes food drives & advocates for policy reform. J’Nyka’s leadership & engagement has led her to become a Civic Engagement Coordinator & community activist. In her free time, she enjoys hiking Cowles Mountain & going to beaches across San Diego County.
