Joerg started to volunteer with San Diego Pride in 2006, first for parade and festival safety and later for festival entertainment. After attending the Pride Leadership Academy in 2012, he became the Parade Staging Coordinator and has been staging our annual Pride parade ever since. Joerg works with the Pride Staff and Parade team volunteers to place the ever-increasing number of contingents before they step off onto the parade route.
Joerg was born and raised in Berlin, Germany, and moved to San Diego in 2003 to pursue a career in biomedical research. He and his husband share their time between San Diego and Chicago, where Joerg is on the faculty of Loyola University Chicago.
