Vote With Pride

Dear community,

With us entering yet another election season, the stakes this year feel higher than ever. As attacks against the LGBTQIA+ community continue to intensify, we must remember that our voices and our votes remain the most powerful tools we have. Across the country, races have been decided by just a handful of votes, underscoring a simple truth: every single vote matters. The LGBTQIA+ electorate is now larger and more influential than ever before. In the 2024 election, it is estimated that 8% of voters identified as LGBTQIA+, the highest share ever recorded in national exit polling. That is millions of voters nationwide, highlighting the collective power we hold when we show up at the polls.

On June 2nd, we will cast our ballots in California’s gubernatorial primary election. It’s critical that you are informed and prepared. In addition to selecting California’s next Governor candidates, voters will weigh in on local offices and a range of state and local ballot measures. These decisions will directly shape our communities and our future. Vote your values. Vote with Pride.

Make sure you and those around you are registered to vote by visiting voterstatus.sos.ca.gov

If you’re ready to take your engagement a step further, we invite you to join our Civic Action Team, the dedicated group of volunteers Pride calls upon to advance LGBTQIA+ equity and advocacy efforts. Members may contact elected and appointed officials, engage voters throughout San Diego County, participate in advocacy trainings, attend lobby days at the city, county, or state level, and more.

Our community’s power grows when we show up – at the ballot box and beyond.
