Dear Community,
We are living in a moment of reckoning. Our understanding of safety, progress, and belonging is threatened. and we feel the weight of uncertainty pressing in from many sides. The path ahead is not simple—and we are not naïve about what it demands of us.
And still, there is hope. Like an old friend returning in our greatest hour of need, hope takes its perch in our collective soul. And still there is love. If we cannot love and resist at the same time, we probably will not survive. And still there is power because there is clear evidence we are prepared to fight for ourselves.
As fear-driven narratives resurface and familiar efforts to divide, silence, and roll back hard-won freedoms intensify, San Diego Pride makes a conscious choice: we choose to shine on.
We shine in our love for one another.
We shine in our audacity to exist—and to thrive.
We shine because of our community—because of the depth, diversity and complexity we hold.
We shine in our resolve to foster pride, equality, and respect for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities locally, nationally, and globally.
We have been on this path before—but we do not undertake it as we once did. We move forward with deep appreciation for our roots and a clearer understanding of our power.
Our light is guided by justice. San Diego Pride’s work remains grounded in our Pillars of Justice: Disability Justice, Economic Justice, Environmental Justice, Gender Justice, Health Justice, Racial Justice, and Reproductive Justice. These pillars reflect our understanding that liberation is interconnected—and that none of us are free unless all of us are free.
We meet this moment with clarity, courage and hope. We choose to build the future we deserve—one rooted in dignity, equity, and joy—knowing that our presence, our love, and our persistence are transformative.
This year, we lean fully into our collective power and declare together. As sure as the moon, the stars, and the sun, Pride Shines On.

San Diego Pride raises funds primarily through festival ticket and beverage sales, and through sponsorships, and exhibitor fees. These funds support San Diego Pride’s community philanthropy which has distributed more than $2.5 million in advancement of its mission to foster pride, equality, and respect for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities locally, nationally, and globally.
