Bio:

Danica is a Transitional-Aged Youth Intern at San Diego Pride. She is a full time Promise Program student at San Diego City College, and hopes to transfer to UCSD to earn her Bachelor of Science degree. She has experience with project planning and has a deep desire to help make a difference in her community. Danica is passionate about giving back to the world, and one day plans on working towards climate sustainability and helping our planet run off clean energy. In her free time, Danica enjoys going to the gym, acrylic painting, and playing Animal Crossing.

Bio:

Haziel is a pragmatic Intern with San Diego Pride. Born and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma, he knows first hand the importance of an organization like San Diego Pride. Hazi understands just how dangerous it is to be queer, brown, and gay on the streets and learned a lot about intersectional oppression and the importance of uplifting and supporting homeless lgbtq+ youth, especially those of color. With this Internship, he hopes to develop the community organizing skills and experience it takes to provide support for struggling and margainalized queer youth. He enjoys sushi and snorkeling anytime! His hobbies include gardening, lifting, modeling, surfing, and on occasion drag. He is on track towards a career in law, with a hope to someday instigate change on the grassroots level.

Bio:

Nico is a 20 year old student originally from Los Angeles California. After making a life changing from San Diego they were able to fully express themselves in an area where they felt safe and respected. Currently, Nico is pursuing a career within visual arts and works as a drag entertainer within the Hillcrest community. Coming from a non traditional background Nico has become passionate about creating a space for others to just be themselves. They have some background working with youth as a sports educator and have been involved with multiple organizations that highlight community engagement, cultural stability and mental health.

Bio:

Devonne Williams is one of San Diego Prides TAY interns, who is practicing social justice work, community organizing, and learning to build their leadership skills.Devonne is currently a Sociology major at San Diego City college with the plan to transfer to UCLA. Throughout her school years she’s been involved in multiple programs that have helped her gain experience in social justice, law, and leadership. Devonne’s career goal is to help support children and teens find ways to cope with their mental health & grow so by the time they are an adult they are able to be on their own. Devonne is a huge self-care advocate so during her free time she likes to listen to music, try out new art mediums, and play video ga mes to help her relax and wind down.

Bio:

Hi I’m Kodi I’m currently an intern with SD Pride. A little about my background is that I enjoy crafting as well as hiking and chilling with friends. I partake in a lot of volunteer work as well, Im very active in my community working with LGBTQ+ being the main focus. This is not only because I myself am a queer person, but because its very important to me that queer youth have someone in there corner to rep them as much as possible. I also work with HYC and am a leader in the QT BIPOC committee.
