There’s so much happening during Pride Week, so we’ve put together 50 things to know before you go! We’re combining celebration and liberation while we honor the folks who are Making History Now. There’s truly something for everyone!

1. She Fest
Kick off Pride Week with the 10th Anniversary of She Fest! Join us for workshops, vendors, community organizations, performers, and community-building activities, all centering 2SLGBTQIA+ women, non-binary people, and people who find community with these identities.

3. CASHLESS!
The 2024 Festival will be a cashless event. Please note box-office and bars will accept debit and credit cards (including gift cards) with VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, and DISCOVER logo on them. Food and merchandise vendors have also been made aware and will have the choice of being completely cashless as well. ATMs will not be available at the festival. 5. San Diego Black Pride
Get ready to celebrate the bold beauty of blackness in all of its queer glory with San Diego Black Pride’s annual Black Pride weekend, with fun, laughter, memories, and activities to last you from one cookout to the next. Happening July 5th -July 7th and ranging from kickbacks and pool parties to drag shows, balls, and family beach days.
6. Light Up the Cathedral
Join us for an interfaith celebration at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral, celebrating Pride with prayer and song. We’ll also present Dharma Bum Temple with the 2024 Light of Pride Award. After the program, the Cathedral will be lit in rainbow colors, and light refreshments will be served.
7. Spirit of Stonewall Rally
Join San Diego Pride’s Spirit of Stonewall Rally and kick off the weekend festivities by hearing inspiring speeches & performers, and celebrating our 2024 Stonewall Awardees. Then cheer as we raise the giant Pride flag over Hillcrest!

8. Hero of Pride
As we celebrate 50 years of Pride marches and parades in San Diego, we look back to honor the founding leadership of San Diego Pride with our Heroes of Pride Award. Their work laid the foundations for the organization that we are today, and the foundations that we continue to build on as we move forward. 9. Community Grand Marshals
LGBTQIA+ youth – especially trans youth – and access to information about our communities continue to be the primary target of today’s anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric. Our LGBTQIA+ and allied educators and library workers have been on the front lines of this fight, and we’re so excited to honor them with the Community Grand Marshal award at the Rally and at the front of our Parade.
10. Champion of Pride
Our 2024 Champion of Pride is Paris Quion (she/her). Paris is a bright light in the San Diego community, and is known as a drag entertainer, businesswoman, activist, and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community. She is tireless in her commitment and unimpeachably principled in her advocacy. Cheer her on at our Rally and our Parade.
11. Spirit of Stonewall Awardees
We are so excited to honor all of our Spirit of Stonewall Awardees this year at the Rally and Parade. Please take a moment to read more about how each of these individuals have impacted our community.
12. Hillcrest Pride Block Party
After the Rally, the Pride of Hillcrest Block Party will return to Pride Plaza to kick off San Diego Pride weekend. This all-ages event put on by the Hillcrest Business Association celebrates the culture, history, diversity and LGBTQIA+ community that lives, works and plays in San Diego’s most colorful and vibrant community. Pride Block Party features a diverse lineup of local and international talent. The festival features a gigantic cocktail bar and beer garden, food trucks, spectacular drag shows, go-go dancers, a massive Ferris wheel, a DJ dance party, and YOU!
13. Pride 5K Run & Walk
Presented by Front Runners & Walkers San Diego, the Pride 5K Run & Walk is a great way to kick off the Pride Parade! Come out to cheer! Gather your friends, families, co-workers, and allies to form a team. Register today before spots sell out!

14. Parade
More than 300 individual contingents including our motorcycle contingent, elected officials, local businesses, religious groups, and nonprofits. For the first time, the Parade will be broadcast live through CBS! Watch on CW San Diego Broadcast Channel, CBS8.com, CBS 8 app, CBS 8 Facebook and YouTube, and CBS8+ streaming channel on Roku, Amazon Fire, TV, and Apple TV. A replay of the parade will be available on the CBS 8 YouTube channel.

15. Walk With Our Coalitions!
We would love to have you join one of our volunteer-led coalitions in the Parade! Please sign up so we have an accurate headcount.
16. Motorcycle Contingent
The motorcycle contingent is an annual tradition that gets the crowd going as they rev their engines and kick off our parade! Join the women on bikes, followed by the men on bikes.
17. Military Contingent & US Marine Corps Marching Band
LGBTQIA+ Active Duty and Veterans will march behind their military service banner. The Military contingent includes the San Diego LGBT Community Center Veterans Wall of Honor and the California National Guard. Back by popular demand is the San Diego Marine Corps Marching Band.

18. Youth Marching Band
The Pride Youth Marching Band is a volunteer program that fosters character development and leadership in LGBTQIA+-identified youth. It offers a chance for young people to showcase their musical talents in the parade, all within a culturally supportive community.
19. Follow The Flag!
Take to the streets at the end of the parade! Grab hold of the 300-foot rainbow flag and dance all the way to the Festival.
20. Protect Your Pups!
Animal Contingents: Dogs are the only animals allowed in the parade, and must be included in a way that prioritizes the safety of the animal. All animals are subject to monitoring by the San Diego Humane Society and ASPCA, and new this year, we have our partners at The Animal Pad working the Parade staging area to provide cooling stations and paw protection for our pups. Petco is also providing an animal rest area along the Parade route. Please review AKC’s guide to protecting dog paws on hot pavement.

21. Pride Festival
From our four entertainment stages, to the Zen Garden, we’ve got your Gay-B-Cs covered with 34 distinct areas and services throughout the two-day Pride Festival. Check out our map before you get here so you don’t get lost in all those rainbows!
22. Parking & Shuttles
Park your car at the Old Naval Hospital for free and catch the free shuttle service to the parade and festival! ADA accessible shuttle vans available!
23. Bike & Scooter Valet
Go GREEN and ride your bike or scooter to the Festival. Free secured parking for bikes and scooters is available on the corner of Balboa Dr. and El Prado thanks to our friends at BikeSD!
24. Stay Hydrated!
Water is one of the best beverages for staying hydrated at an outdoor event because it helps replace fluids lost through sweating. However, other beverages will also help keep your body properly hydrated during the Pride Festival. Water sales are located throughout the festival.
25. Bring Your Kids!
Kids under 13 years old get in free to the Festival (with an accompanying adult). Come visit the Children’s Garden for a day filled with entertainment for all ages like arts and crafts. This area is exclusively for families and hosted by Families @ The Center.
26. Queerassic Park at the Youth Zone!
A space just for youth! Join us at the hub for LGBTQIA+ young people. This year’s theme is Queerassic Park. Enjoy a variety of fun activities, meet other youth, get creative, dance, and find support. All youth ages 13-18 get into the Festival free with a valid school ID.
27. Seniors at Pride
Calling all LGBTQIA+ seniors! Pride is your time to celebrate Pride San Diego style. Take part in our senior programming happening throughout the weekend. Seniors get in free on Sunday morning from 11 AM to 1 PM, and can join us at a complimentary Senior Sunday Coffee from 11 AM-12:30 PM.

29. NEW Fusion Stage!
Celebrate the intersection of queerness and culture at the new Fusion Stage! Featuring music and performances from Queer Asian, Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, and Desi artists. Take a look at the schedule for more information.
30. Pan-Asian CommuniTEA Plaza
Celebrate Pan Asian and Pacific Islander communities through food, music, and community resources all while enjoying live performances near the new Fusion Stage. Hosted by the San Diego Queer Asian Pacific Islander Middle Eastern Desi American Coalition (QAPIMEDA), a program of San Diego Pride.

Get ready for the Festival with the San Diego Pride’s Official Spotify playlist.
32. Movement Stage
Get ready to slay at the Movement stage, a space specifically dedicated to the Black LGBTQIA+ community. Come enjoy a full weekend of music and artist spotlight performances from San Diego Music Awards and Grammy Nominees.
33. Black Pride Resource Area
Located near the Movement Stage, stop by the San Diego Black Pride resource area to find opportunities to tap into being involved with the Black LGBTQIA+ Community.
34. Mundo Latino Stage
Welcome to “Mundo Latino”, a space dedicated to the Latine community. Step into a vibrant environment where culture, diversity, and LGBTQIA+ pride converge. Immerse yourself in Latin rhythms or indulge in the delicious flavors of Latin cuisine.
35. Latine Resource Area
Enter a vibrant environment where culture, diversity, and LGBTQIA+ pride come together. Visit our Latine Coalition resource area to discover opportunities to connect with the Queer Latine Community.
36. Prism for ALL: Art, Literacy, and Legacy
Art, libraries, and history come together with a collaborative stage and maker space, hosting workshops, performances, and activities. Co-hosted by Art of Pride, San Diego Public Library, and Lambda Archives of San Diego. Plus: get your limited edition Pride library cards and enjoy new LGBTQIA+ artist installations!
37. Recovery Village
LGBTQIA+ recovery organizations come together to provide information, resources, support, and 12-step and other recovery meetings.
38. Trans Pride Village
Come on down and check out our Trans Pride Village 2024. With fun gender-affirming activities, information and resources for the transgender, nonbinary, genderqueer, and intersex community. Hosted by San Diego Pride.
39. Sheruk / Asoonax Rainbow Tribal Village
Visit the Rainbow Tribal Village for information and resources for the Indigenous and two-spirit community. Hosted by Strong Hearted Native Women’s Coalition.
40. Leather Realm
The Leather Realm is open to anyone over the age of 18 to provide visibility and awareness of the BDSM, leather, and fetish communities. Resources and workshops available.
41. Take Action With Pride and Register to Vote!
Celebrate and protect queer and trans love with San Diego Pride as we make history now by enshrining marriage equality in the California constitution — register to vote and learn how you can get involved in passing the Freedom to Marry Proposition this November!
42. Get Tested!
Know your status. Take the time to get tested. Knowing your status is a great preventative method of transmitting STIs. There are always free HIV testing sites at the festival, so make sure you get a chance to stop by and get tested.
43. Get Vaccinated!
Get empowered against mpox! Mpox vaccination is recommended by the CDC for at-risk individuals 18 years and older. One of the best ways to lower your risk is vaccination – so don’t wait, vaccinate. And live life proud and out loud. Mpox vaccinations will be available at the San Diego Pride Festival, administered by Champions for Health.
44. Get The Merch!
It’s all about the merch! Memorialize our 50th anniversary year with our theme logo on your favorite apparel, stickers, fans, and more! Find our merch booth at the corner of Juniper & Balboa.
45. Cage-free and Organic Beverages
Bye bye, beverage gardens! Enjoy a refreshing cocktail or cool beer at one of our nine beverage service stations.
46. Zen Garden
Check out the Zen Garden, located between the Children’s Garden and Prism, with free meditation and Yoga classes. Hosted by Queer Conscious
47. VIP
Kick off Pride weekend in style with some VIP passes! San Diego Pride VIPs skip the long lines and enter through their own designated entrance, and have access to the furnished VIP Lounge in front of the main stage all weekend long where they enjoy upgraded VIP restrooms and catered bites from 1-7pm. Each VIP wristband comes with four (4) hosted drinks per day that are redeemable at any festival bar!
48. Donate To Pride
As we like to say, San Diego Pride is “a different kind of Pride!” San Diego’s annual Pride celebrations act as our largest fundraising event to support our philanthropy – we’ve given out more than $3 million to LGBTQIA+-serving programs around the globe! – as well as our 20+ year-round programs for LGBTQIA+ community building, leadership development, arts, advocacy, and youth empowerment. Join us in advancing equality and empowering the LGBTQIA+ community by making a donation to San Diego Pride!
